I like that Zombie takes the concept and continues it without rehashing too much, or trading too much off the prior films. That being said, this one is not great as a stand alone project. It works as the viewers desire to see a conclusion to the Firefly trilogy. The filmmaking is still strong. The Direction, editing, and Cinematography are still of the quality you expect from Rob Zombie- who has established himself as an adept filmmaker. The images are graphic and this is still day and gross. It has morphed from a horror film to an outlaw film and the danger is relating too much to the stars, who are the worst kind of evil. The conclusion of the second film was the perfect way to end the Firefly family story, so this film felt like an unneeded addition. The lack of Sid Haig also took away some of the charm in this film.
